Carolyn S. Bitler, 59 , Bluffton, S.C. and formerly of Lancaster, was called
home to be with the lord Feb 8, 2002, at Hilton Head Medical Center.
She was a licensed minister and the Ministry Mother of the
Disciples of Christ Ministry. She was a graduate of Lancaster High
School and employee of Goody's Family clothing store in Bluffton and a
former employee of Anchor Hocking Glass in Lancaster.
She is survived by her mother, Juanita VanGundy; brother, John
VanGundy; daughters, Susan (Trent) Strawser and Melissa Nicol; son, Matt
Nicol; and her spiritual family of the Disciples of Christ Ministry.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl F. VanGundy and
brother, David VanGundy.
Services will be noon Monday at the Anderson Funeral Home in
Beaufort, S.C., with Pastor Darrell Brooks officiating.
Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaufort.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a
charity or church of your choice.
