About the Remembrance Sections of Classmate Directories

We periodically run across obituaries and other notes regarding the loss of other LHS Alumni as we check for updates for our class of 1960 so we have made an attempt to capture some of that information in the individual remembrance section of other LHS class directories.

We do not have access to the LHS Alumni database so we rely upon the 2000 LHS Alumni Directory, Mirage yearbooks or updates from class members to determine classmates and obtain missing information.

Since we started including information on other classes in October 2008 and our only other reference contains losses up to 2000, some of the listings contained here may be very incomplete.  We are slowly attempting to fill in the missing losses.

We are attempting to verify the information as we include classmates reported as deceased in the 2000 LHS Alumni Directory since we have found numerous errors in that Alumni Directory.  We also attempt to compare the class listings to remembrance lists we receive from other individual classes.  We attempt to check the names against the Social Security Death Index or other available sources and attempt to locate a class photo and obituary.  Although we attempt to verify information, there is always a chance for error especially with classmates with common names.  Please feel free to contact us at Chet@LHS60.net and we will make every effort to correct the information.

Obituaries are extracts from obituaries published in various newspapers.  Images are from the yearbook for that class and current images are generally from the obituary as published in the newspaper.  Quality of the images varies as over the years we have used various scanners or cameras to collect the image from the yearbook or newspapers.  A large number of the images were collected using older technology so we are continually attempting to locate copies of the yearbooks to obtain missing images and recapture images with a better camera. 

The Remembrance Sections listed here are in PDF format and contained in a directory containing a file for each class.  Just click on the correct class to open the file.  Please note that the files are in various stages of completion so some may not include all deceased classmates even though they may be delineated in the 2000 LHS Alumni Directory.  Many do not include classmate images or complete obituaries. We are making an attempt to add information as we locate or receive it.
